The more you worry about something, the more you will think about it, making you more engaged in thinking, rather than the world around you.
Today is the birth of Jesus, but it may not seem like a day to celebrate after the problematic year. Well, I like to look at today as a day of renewal, which rekindles the Christian spirit within me.
Today I welcome you to do the same, reach out to others and show love and forgiveness. Make that phone call and make up with a friend or relation. Today is a day to live by our Christian values, sharing the gifts of love, joy, and happiness with the people we meet, whether in person or online.
At this time, what this world needs is for people to love one another, forgive one another, and for us all collectively to make peace.
It’s easy to look to our leaders and governments to change things, but if every one of us lived by the values of Jesus from today and through 2021, this world would be better than before.
Loving the people that hurt us is challenging, forgiving others can seem impossible at times. Still, we all have a responsibility in making this world a better place for ourselves, our families, and our friends.
May God bless you all.
In this land of friends and followers, on-paper it can seem like we have lots of friends, but when you are in trouble, you quickly find out that you are lucky if you can count your friend list on the one hand.
Then the people that are there for you in your time of need, in your time of encouragement they don’t help you.
I have close friends that are good support when I’m in trouble and I need advice, but when I need some feedback creatively, they will not reply.
This has always confused me?
Why would someone offer support but not feedback, not want you to be in pain or suffering but then not give you praise?
Maybe we judge others on our own standards.
If someone asked me for my opinion on something I would give my opinion, I would pick out the best part; I would say something to make that person continue their writing, their art, their music etc.
A wise person once said to me, “Not everyone who shakes your hand is your friend.”
It took me a few years to see the wisdom within them words. Life is hard, and it is no harder for you than the next person. You may look at your rich friend that has a fancy BMW, lovely house,, and family and think they have such a good life, but maybe their marriage is on the verge of a break-up.
Each of us is rich in different ways.
I guess my main point is, everyone needs encouragement in life, everyone is facing their own problems and all that we can do as friends is to treat everyone in our lives the way we would want to be treated.
No matter how good someone is at something, they still need a few words of encouragement. Even a few words can make the difference between them continuing and stopping. Being depressed thinking no-one cares, or being happy that one person does.
You have that power to help the people that are around you, USE THAT POWER TODAY.
You may have noticed that if people come around to your house, the first thing they do is ask for your WIFI password.
We like to stay connected.
Nowadays, if you haven’t got an internet connection, you are unable to get your emails, notifications, and will have no access to Google.
After one day you will not have missed much, after a week you could have missed some important emails. After a month in some instants, you may have lost your job, or at the very minimum some customers or clients.
The internet is a good analogy for what I’m going to share today because it gets everyone on the same page.
We all know what a month without the internet could potentially do to our lives.
What if our connection to nature is just as important?
The picture below I took about a 35 minute drive from my home, and until last weekend I didn’t know it existed.
In that place, I felt a power that I have not felt in a long time—the feeling of just how insignificant I am in the grand scheme of things. Our egos like to make us think that we are all-powerful, like, it’s up to us to heal the world, to save the planet.
At this time of global unrest and uncertainty, we all crave peace of mind, for everything, too go back to “normal.’ Well, a quantum leap in that direction is to connect with nature again and start to download all the updates that you have missed.
Visit a local landmark, or drive to the closest beach, and re-connect to the only connection you will ever need.
When someone asks what is my secret to always moving forward, this is what I tell them…
If all else fails, try again.
When most of my friends fail, guess what they do? They call me up and talk me through how badly they feel. As a good friend, of course, I listen and give my advice if asked.
The next day, another call, I answer with optimism, waiting for them to tell me how my advice has changed there life around. Or how better they feel today?
Guess what? Im sure you know what im about to write before I write it.
They tell me the same story again.
A few weeks later. Im sure you get the point.
What’s their mistake? They get lost in the disappointment, the set-back, the worry, the doubt.
We all approach life’s difficulties differently, and who am I to say what is right or wrong but all that I can do is tell you how I deal with set-backs.
I Re-evaluate, change direction, and try again.
Today, we are going to get started on the subject of happiness.
Usually, when someone asks me what is the #1 secret to being happy, I tell them they should get involved in whatever excites them the most.
This is good advice.
Happiness, in my opinion, especially happiness that lasts, is most often a by-product of enthusiasm. If a person, secretly in his heart, wants to be a fireman, he shouldn’t go into installing fire alarms, for example, just because he has heard that that is where the money is.
Happiness Is Where the Enthusiasm Is.
Please remember this!
Remember it also, if you ever need to hire someone. Always look for the most enthusiastic person, not necessarily the most qualified.
When you are enthusiastic about life, opportunities open as if by magic. And the more you appreciate Life, the more Life rewards you. The more you appreciate and are grateful for what you have, the more Life offers you.
Most people are unexcited about life, so they gossip or belittle others. These type of people are rarely happy. The reason, they don’t like themselves, so keep the focus on others. These people may seem happy, they may seem to be popular but secretly they are the saddest and most insecure of all.
There is a famous saying, don’t watch what people say, watch what they do.
The people around you might give you the illusion on social media that they are living this amazing life, they are always in new clothes, always seem to be going on holidays, always having fun.
But don’t watch what they say, watch what they do…
So, if they are giving the impression of having an amazing life much superior to yours, but work the same job as you, let that be a red flag. They could well be in massive debt! With pressures you couldn’t even imagine.
Trying to live up to their standards will ultimately lead to unhappiness.
Instead, be inspired by those that are sharing their gifts and talents with the world, those that are creating and helping others. Maybe inspiring people with a podcast, a YouTube channel, or a blog.
Very often these are the people that are creating imagining and innovating. These are the people that will share their wisdom with you, if you ask…
Growing up I didn’t have social media, but I still looked up to the people that were going to all the parties and seemed to be having all the fun. For many years I put all my energy into trying to be like them, taking my mind off my abilities.
What I discovered was, the people I was looking up to where very often self-centred, and arrogant. They were not excellent communicators like I thought, they just run others down and made fun of everyone for their amusement
It’s so easy to judge yourself based on others, resulting in you never being happy with who you are. Leading to thoughts that you’re not good enough, feelings that you have nothing to offer.
This is the type of thinking that can lead to depression and anxiety.
From an early age I had the ability to make people feel better about themselves, the gift to make people smile. But for most of my life I took this gift for granted, which led to a lot of unhappiness.
By nature, I am quiet and reserved, so when I was surrounded by loud and extroverted people, I felt out of place. All my energy was being directed at trying to fit in with people that I had nothing much in common with.
But the moment I removed myself from that environment, embracing my gifts, my levels of happiness soared.
Happiness that lasts doesn’t come from others it comes from within. It comes from sharing your gifts and talents with the world. Sharing your enthusiasm with others.
It could be a passion for art, music, cars, technology, decorating, listening, or organising. No matter what your passion is when you focus on that area you will excel, and with that success will come unmeasurable happiness.
Enjoy your weekend.
My brother once said to me, “you take your own level of intelligence for granted.”
A man of few words he only said it once but it stuck with me.
The wisdom within them words have been revealing themselves over the last 25 years.
We assume so much. We assume that everyone has the same common sense, empathy, compassion, and faith that we do.
Guess what, they don’t.
From today don’t assume anything. Just because something seems logical to you doesn’t mean that the other person sees your logic. 90% the time they don’t.
So if someone is always annoying you, always seems to do what you asked them not to do. Do not let it stress you out.
Very often they can not see the reasoning behind your words. As my brother said, don’t take your own level of intelligence for granted. Some people are not that intelligent.
Just because someone as a PHD or other fancy letters behind their name does not mean that they view the world the same as you. You may put them on a pedestal because they have a better education.
Yes, education matters but never feel inferior to anyone. Know who you are, a child of God, graced with many talents and abilities.
Never Take Your Level Of Intelligence for Granted
Your mind is unique, you can process information in ways that no one else can. Your life purpose has to be finding out— in what way.
It could be as simple as communication, you might have the ability to instil faith into peoples hearts in a way that no one else can. When you speak others listen.
Don’t hide away from that gift, don’t silence the David that is within you.
Stop 100 people on the street and ask them, “what is your gift, talent or ability?” 99 will say they don’t know, and if that is the case for you.
Let it be your life purpose to find out.
Chances are everyone around you already knows and probably have told you, many times— you’re great with people, a great listener, great with numbers, great with computers, with the written word…
but you have taken your level of intelligence for granted.
Your gift in life is effortless to you, so effortless that you can completely dismiss that gift and spend your entire life unhappy thinking that God forgot about you.
Im telling you today that you were not forgotten, you have seeds of greatness within.
If you’re still unsure what your gift in life is, that you can do effortlessly then you don’t want to miss my next post where I will reveal how to find it, and also what to do so that you can live out your divine destiny.
Until the next time…
It’s so easy to let the troubles of the world get to us. We can become worried, anxious and depressed. Thinking that we have made too many mistakes.
Locked in the past, we are unable to move forward.
Without growth, we become unhappy, unaware of what went wrong.
A lot of our problems in life is when we become too attached to our feelings. It’s essential in these moments to connect with nature to let go, trusting that the ideas, the inspiration, the right people will show up to help us on our way.
Keep trusting and moving forward. 🙂
This is a must watch. Guaranteed to make you feel better.
